Tink Says:

I respect, admire and occasionally stalk many people, who, in most cases happen to be great friends. Here are a few that inspire me with who they are and what they're up to:

Kirsten Clarkson

The joke goes that when the earth is obliterated by some man-made or natural catastrophe, the sole survivors will be cockroaches - and Cher. Well, props to Cher, but she don't hold no candle to my friend Kirsten - or K.C. as she prefers to be known. K.C.'s a survivor, a mentor, an innovator and an oft-times overly giggly friend. She can start a business like nobody's business and succeeds because she infuses all she does with a great deal of passion and sweat. A writer, director, acting coach, agent, entrepeneur and great as each and every one. This site is her acting school - constantly evolving, constantly fulfilling the needs of it's students and staff - just like K.C. herself. www.schoolcreative.com

Lily Frost

A bright beacon of light when I first came to Vancouver. A stunningly smooth voice, an incomparable presence and incredibly cinematic music. She continuously inspires my work. www.lilyfrost.com

jamie griffiths

Talk about beacons of light in Vancouver. When I first met Jamie, she was an incredibly gifted photographer - hers were among my first purchases for my personal collection. Over the years, Jamie has evolved her work, so much so that I don't have the ability to adequately describe exactly what she does - suffice to say she melds live human performance with a wide range of visual and aural media - often on the spot and now touring the world in front of large audiences. Another constant inspiration for me. www.jamiegriffiths.com

Dick Hardt

I met Dick around the same time as Jamie, with both being subjects of my exhibition and documentary "fast forward". Dick is far too smart for me to comprehend, I hate to write this here, but I spend a lot of time smiling and nodding when we have conversations - kidding - Dick inspires me with his constant innovation and great gentle manner. The first link is for his new company (pronounced "skip") and the second two are his blogs, one personal, the other work related.

Wayne Hoerchel

I've had the pleasure of working with Wayne a few times over the years, the most recent being the result of a coincidental meeting at a friends party. My hair had been freshly cut and dyed a very short blonde with a dark brown shark fin sticking up at the front. He liked the look and asked to do a shoot. That meeting and subsequent shoot reintroduced me to his work which I have since become a huge fan of. Here are links to two of his sites, the first being more commercial, the second - more editorial.

Adam Jones

When I first saw jamie griffith's website, I asked her who designed it. Adam Jones of course. I was directed to his other work where I saw a great simplicity and elegance in communicating his clients marketing needs to their clients/patrons/audience. I had been looking for a website designer for quite a while and finally knew I had come across the right one for me. Adam rocks! - simple enough. www.adjo.info

The Kindness Crew

Four guys with incredibly huge hearts and minds. Their mandate is to commit random acts of kindness - preferably extreme - and in doing so, make us aware of how simple and gratifying it is to do a lil' somethin' special for those we come in contact with. They've toured North America, written a couple books and are applying all their knowledge and experience into constantly evolving presentations that are both highly entertaining and enlightening. www.extremekindness.com

Jason Lust

Jason's a great pal. Years ago, I crashed for a few months in his pad in NYC as we were both beginning our forays in to the world of film. Now a Producer based in L.A., Jason's company "Circle of Confusion" is making strong progress in the creation of interesting and creative films. I look forward to the day when we will work together. www.circleofconfusion.com/coc_content.html

Monday Michiru

From the first moment we met in Tokyo many years ago, I was aware that she was - and is - incredibly special. Her music is beautiful, as is the way she lives her life. Remixes of her songs abound and I hafta say, many of them shake my lil' tush like you wouldn't believe. www.mondaymichiru.com

Tony Pantages

One of my "wild-child" pals. More than intelligent, more than sexy and way creative. I don't get to catch his work as often as I'd like, but when I do, it's always a learning experience. www.pantages.tv

Adrienne Pierce

Her voice is like a red lollipop, her smile more than infectious, her music: beautiful, thought provoking and highly personal. I first heard one of her songs in a photographers studio five minutes before she coincidentally dropped by. Can one fall in love instantly? www.adriennepierce.com

Sarah Jane Redmond

A wonderful actress, a treasured friend. We've known each other for years, but finally had the opportunity to work together in 2003 on a television series for which Sarah was the main character. It was the first time I had watched her perform comedy and I was amazed - this girl pulls no punches - the scripts required many brave performances from her and she blew each and every one of them away. I was lucky enough to have her appear in my most recent short "Love is in the Air". The role was small, but Sarah enlarged it with a wonderfully nuanced performance, bringing her character to exactly where she had to be. My affection for this woman is limitless. www.sarahjaneredmond.com
